Could this be a thing?

where we ask you, the reader, to consider the benefits, pitfalls and general merit of odd idea, sometimes plural.

New 7 mile hiking biking trail right up the street. Inadequate parking. Very.

Idea. Taxi service utterly specialized for this task.

Bike tire repairs as well. Generally like a bike rally support car for hire.

A new tracks-to-trails project, so no need to drive _on_ the trail.

Lots of crossover points to drop off, pick up or repair.

I'm ready to drop coin on a wagon, get racks built, hire employees.

Assume I've skimmed a bit on the licensing and other things that a real taxi service would require. They're all driving Panthers anyway.

Well, I have to find the coin first. Would kick-starter believe it?

Oh yeah, winter. Just switch to skis, then.

I think it could potentially work, depending on how much traffic the bike trail gets. Not sure I'd suggest it as a sole/primary source of income, especially when you have to consider that any day when it's too cold or rainy you'll likely have just about zero customers.

True, this is not planned as a full time job replacement.

A cheap subaru and a few licenses, maybe partner with one of the now-busy bike shops for delivery stuff. There's bound to be lazy people wanting a convenient assist to their exercise.

It's about a 7 mile trail and perhaps folks would like to go to one end and arrive back at their car rather than double their walking. And the main entrance has a tiny parking lot that pretty much is constantly full now. Park next to the active railroad? Not a good idea.

More reasonable rates for such things, population 60k and lots of gentrified who might want a lift to the scenic bit, or perhaps it starts raining and they want to get out of it.

But yes, seasonal and weather. Perhaps more broad taxi services, deliveries for bike shops, desperate scrounging for food in winter as the market goes indoors. But wow there's going to be some scenery this winter. well, it was always there, just the railroad company would get mad.
